Dive Insight:
UDF’s rewards program, which has won numerous awards and features on the company’s highly rated app, has gone through several updates over the past several years.
Other changes have included adding UDF’s signature fuel price lock to the program in 2018, refreshing its general technology platform in 2021 and implementing a text messaging outreach service with guest engagement company Movibity in 2022.
While loyalty programs at many convenience stores are lagging behind those found in other retail channels, some c-stores like UDF have continually improved their rewards, apps and more. With many consumers still paying close attention to their spending, offering additional discounts and bundled offers promises to strengthen the relationship customers have with UDF.
The company’s stackable savings offer covers gasoline as well as snacks, fresh food and other categories. Shoppers can add up savings across categories and apply them when filling up at the pump.
U-Drive Plus also offers Wednesday freebies, discounts on many in-store items and more.
Established in 1940, Cincinnati, Ohio-based UDF has around 200 stores and employs about 3,000 people. Its business units include c-stores, wholesale ice cream, manufacturing, commercial baking, real estate, warehousing, transportation and petroleum transportation.
