Dive Insight:
For its latest limited-time menu item, TXB is offering a flavorful riff on a dish that it offers in various forms across multiple dayparts. The chicken and steak quesadillas are made with veggies, cheese and meat, while breakfast quesadillas include eggs, bacon and cheese. All are served on fresh-made tortillas and include salsa verde, salsa roja or pico de gallo.
TXB describes itself as “a family of restaurant-style convenience stores serving fresh-made food,” according to its website.
This isn’t the first time the convenience retailer has tried limited-time options. In 2021, the company first offered buffalo chicken mac & cheese, and chorizo, egg and cheese quesadillas.
C-store chains are turning to limited-time offers as a way to drive traffic during the summer months. 7-Eleven has rolled out Korean BBQ boneless wings in advance of National Chicken Wing Day, along with some special summer flavors of its signature Slurpee. Rutter’s introduced the next three items in its rotating limited-time menu, while Stewart’s Shops unveiled five new ice cream flavors.
TXB or Texas Born — formerly known as Kwik Chek — has 49 stores in Texas and Oklahoma. In addition to fresh food, the company focuses on locally sourced private label goods.
