TravelCenters of America has named Brian Zellner as its new chief people officer, effective Sept. 1, a company spokesperson confirmed.
Zellner will be responsible for developing TA’s staffing agenda, overseeing all aspects of its team member experience, including the people-related details of its integration with BP, the spokesperson said.
Zellner leaves his previous position as vice president of leadership and culture with the travel center chain’s parent company, BP, which he held since June 2022, according to his LinkedIn bio. In that role, he led a team of 75 people in multiple countries and was responsible for talent management, leadership development and more.
Beyond his most recent position, Zellner held several other human resource roles over his 10-plus years with BP. Some included chief of staff to the EVP of people and culture; senior director of human resources; U.S. recruiting manager; and labor relations manager.
Before joining BP, Zellner held several HR jobs with multiple large-scale corporations, including ExxonMobil, Honeywell and GE.
Zellner’s promotion is the latest in a string of executive changes at TA since it was acquired by BP in May. The company also named Gregory Franks as president and chairman, Debi Boffa as CEO and Babu Rajalingam as CFO.
