- Sheetz is giving its 26,000 employees access to education resources through a partnership with higher education management company AllCampus, according to an announcement last week.
- This gives Sheetz’s workers access to more than 500 low-cost or tuition-free degree and certificate programs from a variety of universities.
- The partnership comes about two months after Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores rolled out a free education program for its employees in partnership with online education and mobility provider Guild.

As convenience stores continue to face turnover rates well over 100%, retailers are looking for new ways to attract workers and keep them healthy. In addition to raising pay, new perks like these education programs give operators additional ways to appeal to potential workers.
The agreement with AllCampus includes help selecting school or degree programs as well as support while taking the classes. Employees get preferred tuition rates, AllCampus scholarships and tuition reimbursement from Sheetz. The schools AllCampus works with include Boston University, Pace University and Purdue.
Sheetz offers many employee perks. In addition to scholarships and up to $5,250 in annual tuition reimbursement, the Sheetz job site lists pet insurance, financial counseling and more.

Established in 1952,Altoona, Pennsylvania-based Sheetz operates nearly 750 store locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina.
