- With inflation still pressuring customers’ wallets, more convenience stores are leaning on their value proposition with cheap meal deals.
Dive Insight:
QuickChek joins convenience store peers such as Wawa, which is again offering $5 and $6 sandwiches for its annual Hoagiefest promotion, and EG America, which is selling two roller grill items or pizza slices and a drink for $5 for a limited time. It’s not just c-stores either, with companies like McDonalds and Starbucks looking to give inflation-weary customers cheaper alternatives.
The two-for-$5 mix-and-match breakfast menu allows customers to choose among QuickChek’s sausage, egg and cheese English muffins; bacon, egg and cheese English muffins; sausage, egg and cheese croissants; and a variety of empanadas between 4 a.m. and 11 a.m. daily.
The new burrito bowls come in spicy chicken, which includes tenders and green goddess dressing; steak, which includes sliced steak, jalapeño peppers and a drizzle of ranch dressing; grilled chicken, which includes chicken, roasted red peppers and a new green goddess dressing; and the huevos rancheros breakfast option, with scrambled eggs, sausage and ranch dressing.
All burrito bowls come with black beans, shredded cheddar cheese and Latin rice.
The green goddess dressing also is key to two new subs that are part of QuickChek’s partnership with the New York Giants NFL team. These are the turkey with green goddess dressing, which also features turkey, Vermont cheddar cheese and roasted red peppers; and breaded chicken with green goddess dressing, which also includes breaded chicken, provolone cheese and black olives.
Finally, the convenience retailer has added new refreshers - black tea-based beverages with mango or strawberry bursting boba bubbles.
Whitehouse Station, New Jersey-based QuickChek operates 154 convenience stores in New Jersey and New York. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Murphy USA, one of the largest c-store companies in the United States.
