Quality Oil Company, which operates around 140 convenience stores across four eastern states, has named longtime executive Don McIver as its new CEO, according to a company announcement on Friday.
McIver steps into the company’s top role after spending more than 15 years with Quality Oil, most recently as its executive vice president of finance. He succeeds former president and CEO Graham Bennett, who has retired.
“On behalf of everyone at Quality Oil, I thank Graham for his steadfast service to our company,” McIver said. “I’m truly humbled to lead Quality Oil, a place that has been such an integral part of my life and career for many years.”

McIver will continue to work as Quality Oil’s EVP of finance while the company “reevaluates the role and, subsequently, searches for a replacement,” according to the announcement.
McIver added that both Quality Oil and its fuel distribution arm, Reliable Tank Line, are focused on expanding their portfolios.
“Although we’re still the same Quality Oil that we’ve always been, we are on a growth trajectory and are hiring,” McIver said.
Quality Oil’s convenience store banners include Quality Mart, Quality Plus and Gogas. Its locations are scattered across the Carolinas, Virginia and Tennessee. Founded in 1929, Winston Salem, North Carolina-based Quality Oil also operates hotels and a real estate development division in addition to its c-store and fuel distribution segments.
