Performance Food Group Company, one of the most notable c-store foodservice distributors in the U.S., has named Scott McPherson as president and chief operating officer, effective Jan. 1, 2025, the company announced on Monday.
McPherson has been overseeing PFG’s foodservice, convenience and Vistar snacking segments in his current role as president and chief field operations officer for the past year. As COO, he’ll continue managing those divisions while reporting to George Holm, PFG’s chairman and CEO.
McPherson held numerous positions with convenience distributor Core-Mark for 30 years before the company was acquired by PFG in 2021. Notable roles included president and CEO, COO, and senior vice president of business operations and development.
McPherson will replace Craig Hoskins, who has been PFG’s president and COO for the past three years. Hoskins will transition into the newly created role of executive vice president and chief development officer, where he’ll lead PFG’s integration of two recent acquisitions, Cheney Brothers Inc. and Jose Santiago Inc.
“By investing in the development of our leaders, we ensure our team is equipped to drive innovation, foster growth, and seamlessly navigate an ever-evolving marketplace,” Holm said in the announcement.
Convenience retailing is one of PFG’s priority segments, with 42 of its 150 distribution centers across the U.S. dedicated to c-stores. PFG, based in Richmond, Virginia, offers several turnkey c-store food programs, including Contiga Taqueria, Deli 55, Perfectly Southern, The Red Seal pizzeria and Tru-Q BBQ.
