Dive Brief:
- Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores has bolstered its truck service and maintenance network by opening three new Speedco locations, one each in Clarksville, Arkansas; Brookville, Pennsylvania; and Ripley, New York, according to a Thursday announcement.
- These new locations, the latest of over 95 Speedco shops added since Love’s bought the company in 2017, are open all day every day and offer services such as oil changes, inspections, tire service and light maintenance for both individual truck drivers and for company fleets.
- Between its flagship Love’s Truck Care locations and Speedco stations, Love’s now operates more than 430 truck-focused service stations where its My Love Rewards can be used.
Dive Insight:
The new Speedco locations further solidify Love’s as the largest truck maintenance and care network in the U.S. with “over 1,500 maintenance bays and 1,200 emergency roadside vehicles,” the company said. Love’s serves most of the contiguous U.S., except for parts of New England.
That’s far more robust than many other top truck service chains. Pilot has a network of over 35 service centers nationwide, while Boss Truck Shop has 46 shops across 23 states.
The expansion also increases the utility of the My Love Rewards loyalty program. While customers may not be able to access amenities like free showers or drink refills at standalone Speedco locations, these new stores give members another place to spend or earn points.
Depending on their level in the program — from base to diamond — a customer can earn between one and four points per dollar spent, and redeem them for a one-cent discount per point on truck services at Speedco.
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-based Love’s purchased Speedco in November 2017, adding the company’s then-52 truck service locations to its network. Since then, the total number of shops has swelled by more than 95, including 15 new Speedco locations added in 2022.
