Dive Brief:
- Fast Stop of Louisiana is renaming all its non-truck stop c-stores to Fast Stop Express, CEO Mahmoud Ziadeh confirmed to C-Store Dive. The rollout of the new name started with an expansion it’s currently working on with distributor and operator Robert J Roland, the company announced via LinkedIn post.
- The Louisiana company has opened six Express stores this year, with plans for more by the end of the year, Ziadeh said via email. These six stores were all new to the company in 2024, a spokesperson confirmed.
- Fast Stop plans to eventually rebrand all of its regular convenience stores to Express locations “step by step,” according to the spokesperson. This will more clearly separate these locations from the company’s truck stops, which offer additional amenities like laundry facilities and casino games, according to Ziadeh
Dive Insight:
Fast Stop’s move to the Fast Stop Express banner is the latest rebranding effort in the convenience store industry.
While the Fast Stop Express rebranding is more subtle, the convenience store industry has seen plenty of recent name changes. In April, some Kum & Go locations were rebranded to Maverik and Global Partners is shifting 64 Timewise locations to the Honey Farms banner. Companies like ExtraMile and Texaco, meanwhile, focused on updating the look of the branding, instead of a name change.
Beyond the banner change, most Fast Stop locations moving forward will offer the company’s Fast Food menu, which isn’t available in any express stores to date, the spokesperson said. Fast Stop’s food service offering includes fried chicken and seafood, po boys and southern sides, the company’s website said.
Founded in 2015, Fast Stop operates more than 40 convenience stores in Louisiana and New Mexico, according to its website.
