Krispy Krunchy Chicken has added nuggets to its menu of signature fried chicken, tenders, chicken sandwiches and sides, the company announced on Monday. The nuggets are made with whole-muscle chicken breast meat, marinated in a proprietary spice blend, then breaded and fried.
The nuggets, which were available for sampling at the 2024 NACS Show, are now officially available across the company’s 3,200-plus locations. The nuggets come with a variety of dipping sauce options, including sweet & sour, honey mustard, ranch, BBQ, buffalo and Krispy Krunchy sauce.
“The top three reasons people seek out Krispy Krunchy are the quality of our food, our exceptional value and our cravable menu items,” said Jim Norberg, CEO of Krispy Krunchy Chicken. “These nuggets embody all three.”
Krispy Krunchy is offering a discount on the nuggets for a limited time — $4.99 for a 6-piece with one dipping sauce or $6.99 for 10 nuggets and two sauces.
Chicken restaurants have been in growth mode, with visits having grown 4.6% year- over- year in the third quarter of 2024, according to Placer.ai data. At the 2024 NACS Show, several experts noted that sales of boneless chicken — like nuggets and tenders — were surging.
Ed Moore, who represents Perfectly Southern — Core-Mark’s fried chicken program — said during the show boneless chicken and tenders are quicker to cook than bone-in chicken, helping boost their presence in c-stores.
