Dive Brief:
- H&S Energy has updated its mobile app with a new car wash subscription program, according to a Tuesday press release.
- The program, powered by loyalty and digital marketing technology company Liquid Barcodes, allows customers to enroll in a subscription program that offers multiple wash tiers, or buy a single car wash.
- This app refresh comes about two months after H&S Energy acquired fuel and convenience retail businesses, including c-stores and car washes, from Andretti Petroleum Group.
Dive Insight:
Routing the subscription program through the app allows for a “frictionless and contactless solution” for users, H&S said in its announcement, helping them get what they want quickly. Also, as with most subscription programs, the car washes aim to help build visits to H&S’s stores into customer’s routines and give the company a recurring revenue stream.
“Car care is extremely important to California drivers,” said H&S Senior Director of Operational Systems Fidaa Mohrez. “By providing an easy and affordable car wash subscription program, we can be sure our customers will visit our stores frequently to keep their vehicles looking pristine.”
Details of the subscription program, including prices and tiers, were not available by press time.
An addition to the car wash subscription program, the update also added an in-app game.
H&S Energy’s March acquisition of many Andretti Petroleum Group assets included 170 convenience stores and fuels distribution, cardlock, fleet card, commercial fueling, car wash, lubricants and transportation businesses. The move doubled H&S’s retail footprint.
Orange, California-based H&S Energy owns more than 250 stores under a variety of banners, including Power Market and Extra Mile.
