Convenience retailer Holiday Oil has named James Peterson as its new chief operating officer and Kim Facer as chief financial officer, according to a Monday announcement.
Peterson takes on his new role as COO after spending the past five and half years as Holiday Oil’s CFO, according to his LinkedIn bio. Prior to that, he was a financial controller for the company between 2017 and 2018, and worked in Holiday Oil’s human resources department between 2008 and 2010.
Between 2010 and 2018, Peterson worked for various companies outside of the convenience store industry, including information technology firm Pearson VUE, heating and cooling company Comfort Systems USA and food manufacturer Daily’s Premium Meats.
Facer joined Holiday Oil in early 2023 as vice president of finance, according to his LinkedIn bio. This marked his first foray into the c-store industry, having previously held financial leadership roles with big-box retailers like Target and Sears. He’s also worked for consulting firm Sitel Group, smart home system manufacturer Vivint and real estate solutions firm North Haven Global Advisors.
Hiring Peterson and Facer marks “a new era of growth and innovation for the company,” which has “ambitious plans to extend its footprint” in its home state of Utah, according to the announcement.
"[Peterson’s and Facer’s] passion for our brand, extensive experience, and commitment to our values make them ideal leaders to steer us into the future,” Mike Wagstaff, co-president of Holiday Oil, said in the announcement.
Founded in 1964, Salt Lake City-based Holiday Oil operates 74 convenience stores across central and northern Utah. It is separate from Holiday Stationstores, which is owned by Alimentation Couche-Tard.
