Global Partners LP has named Gabe Donnini as its new vice president of insights, according to a July 27 LinkedIn announcement from Donnini.
Donnini will focus on building out Global Partners’ new Analytics Center of Excellence, according to the announcement.
A spokesperson from Global Partners declined to comment on Donnini’s hiring, only noting that the vice president of innovation is a newly created role within the company. A spokesperson from Drizly, Donnini’s former employer, confirmed that Donnini left the company in late July.
Donnini brings more than a decade’s worth of experience in data analytics to this role at Global Partners, which marks his first foray in the convenience store industry.
He most recently spent over two years at Drizly, an alcohol delivery company owned by Uber, where he was director of analytics, according to his LinkedIn bio. Donnini led Drizly’s data science, analytics and data engineering initiatives for product, marketing and strategic partnerships.
Donnini has also held data analytics leadership roles with pet retailer Chewy, photo sharing platform Photo Butler, and e-commerce brands Teikametrics, Chitika and Nanigans. These roles included head of analytics, associate director of marketing analytics, senior optimization analyst and data solutions engineer.
Waltham, Massachusetts-based Global Partners operates more than 350 convenience stores on the East Coast under brands including Alltown Fresh, XtraMart, Honey Farms and Jiffy Mart. The retailer also supplies fuel to about 1,700 locations in 12 states.
