Dive Brief:
- Foxtrot’s reopening plans keep rolling along, with its first two sites in Dallas expected to open in January, the company announced on Thursday.
- These stores, located at 3130 Knox St. and 6565 Hillcrest Ave., will collaborate with a local supplier to add new breakfast tacos to their made-to-order menus, according to the announcement.
- After Further Point Enterprises acquired the assets of 15 Foxtrot stores from parent company Outfox Hospitality in May, the firm and Foxtrot’s co-founder, Mike LaVitola, have been steadily reopening those locations. They started in Chicago and are now expanding to Dallas, with stores in Austin, Texas, also planned for the future.
Dive Insight:
While LaVitola had originally planned to open 15 sites this year, the company is running behind that goal. The company has five locations currently up and running according to its website.
Still, after the abrupt way Outfox shut down in April, getting this many of the stores up and running by the end of the year is no small feat. The company also rebooted its delivery and order-ahead services in October.
The reopened stores will feature Foxtrot’s signature mix of local and unique products, including customer-favorite gummies and gummy mixes, the company said.
It’s also bringing back its made-to-order menu, which includes panini sandwiches, salads, bowls and cookies in addition to the new, elevated approach to breakfast tacos that include fillings like borracho bean, brisket guisado and grilled veggies.
"These refreshed stores showcase our commitment to partnering with exceptional purveyors, offering the finest ingredients, and creating a warm, inviting space where the community can gather,” said Foxtrot Co-Founder Taylor Bloom in the announcement.
