EG America has named Whitney Johnson as senior vice president of marketing, the convenience retailer announced on Tuesday.
Johnson’s promotion comes less than a year after she joined EG America as its VP of loyalty and digital commerce, a new role for the company. Johnson spent the past eight months in that position leading the company’s loyalty program and go-to-market strategies, as well as developing short- and long-term growth strategies for loyalty, digital commerce, retail media and third-party delivery.

As SVP of marketing, Johnson will continue to lead EG America’s loyalty, digital commerce, advertising and social media operations, and will also oversee its tobacco business, guest services and other support functions. EG America operates over 1,500 c-stores across 30 states under several banners, such as Cumberland Farms, Tom Thumb, QuikStop and Turkey Hill.
“In very short order, Whitney has made significant contributions that have transformed and enhanced vital areas of our company and accelerated growth,” John Carey, president and CEO of EG America, said in the announcement. “Her passion, expertise and forward-thinking approach are helping us to drive our business forward in new and innovative ways.”
Before joining EG America last June, Johnson founded Capstone Growth Advisors, a consulting firm focused on consumer packaged goods, e-commerce and retail sectors. Prior to that, she led grocery merchandising and category management for GoBrands, popularly known as Gopuff, and held senior roles in merchandising strategy, loyalty and category management at Murphy USA and Sunoco.
