EG America has named Robert Brown as its new vice president of branded QSRs, according to a LinkedIn announcement from Brown on Feb. 8.
Before Brown stepped into his new role, he served as the company’s VP of operations in its central division, according to his LinkedIn bio. Brown also spent time earlier in his career as a regional director for EG America in Colorado, where the company operates the Loaf ‘N Jug convenience store banner.
A spokesperson for EG America did not respond by press time when asked for more information on Brown and his promotion.
Brown is the second QSR-focused executive EG America has appointed in a matter of months. Late last year, the company named Mendy Meriwether, Wawa's former director of food and beverage, as its first VP of food, dispensed beverage and QSR.
EG America’s QSR operations are expanding. Last September, the company debuted three QSR concepts at a Cumberland Farms convenience store in New Bedford, Massachusetts. These include Alanza Pizza, which sells pizza, pasta and breadsticks; Burger Baby, which offers a variety of burgers as well as cheesesteaks and fries; and Wing Trip, which includes four varieties of wings, fries and chicken sandwiches.
At the time, EG America said it planned to bring each of these QSR concepts to other c-stores in its network, although there’s no indication of any such expansion yet.
Besides its branded QSRs, EG America also has partnerships with traditional restaurant chains such as Subway, Burger King, Taco John’s, Sbarro, Cinnabon and Ria’s Pizzeria. The Westborough, Massachusetts-based retailer operates more than 1,500 convenience stores across 30 states.
