EG America, the U.S. arm of British convenience retailer EG Group, has named Elizabeth Pierce as its chief operating officer, the company announced on Wednesday.
Pierce will lead EG America’s retail operations, which includes about 1,500 convenience stores across several brands mainly on the East Coast, such as Cumberland Farms, Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Loaf N’ Jug and Minit Mart.
“We are thrilled to have Elizabeth join our company and team,” said John Carey, president and CEO of EG America. “Her expertise and strong leadership will ensure our retail organization continues to evolve and execute on the company’s strategic goals and drive business performance and growth.”
In its announcement, EG America lauded Pierce’s “extensive experience in designing and executing complex business strategies, acquisitional growth and organic expansion, and developing multifunctional teams.”
Pierce was most recently president and CEO of Irish retailer Applegreen’s operations in the U.S., which includes over 220 c-stores and travel centers across 18 states. According to her LinkedIn bio, she held that position for six years and worked in various finance roles with the company for nearly a decade before that.
Pierce also served as an executive board member for NACS between 2021 and 2022, according to the announcement and her LinkedIn bio.
EG America, based in Westborough, Massachusetts, has completely overhauled its executive team over the past year. In September 2023, the convenience retailer named a new president and CEO in John Carey. Since then, it has appointed a new COO, chief financial officer, chief marketing officer, chief human resources officer and four vice presidents across its food, loyalty, procurement and transformation teams.
