Delek US Holdings promoted Sam Eljaouhari, the company’s senior vice president and chief supply chain officer, to the executive vice president level earlier this month, according to a LinkedIn announcement from Eljaouhari.
Eljaouhari became Delek’s chief supply chain officer when he joined the convenience retailer in December 2019, according to his LinkedIn bio. For the past two years, he also managed Delek’s capital projects and renewable fuels divisions.
Eljaouhari’s move to the executive level puts him in a group of only nine other individuals at Delek, which has over 3,500 employees.
Prior to joining Delek, Eljaouhari spent over two decades in procurement and supply chain leadership positions at Marathon Petroleum and BP.
At Marathon, his most recent role was head of procurement and supply chain for the company’s refining enterprise. In his nearly six years with Marathon, Eljaouhari was also the company’s senior director of supply chain and category management, as well as its director of procurement operations.
During his 17-year career with BP, Eljaouhari was most notably vice president and chief procurement officer, a role in which he standardized processes across the company’s procurement, category management and supply chain operations. Other roles he held at BP included director of materials and logistics, strategy implementation manager, and global strategy and risk manager.
Also this month, Delek hired Michael Curley as its new senior director of operations, according to a LinkedIn announcement from Curley.
In his position, Curley designs company-wide procedures with a focus on safety, operational excellence, cost control, asset utilization and value creation, according to his LinkedIn bio. He also works closely with Delek’s integrity management and engineering teams to maximize profitability.
Up until this month, Curley spent over 20 years with DCP Midstream, an oil and gas company that was acquired by Phillips 66 for nearly $4 billion last year. His most recent role with DCP was vice president of operations, which he held since 2015. Before that, he was the company’s vice president of commercial, senior managing director of business development, and managing director.
Delek did not respond by press time to comment on Eljaouhari’s promotion and Curley’s hiring.
Brentwood, Tennessee-based Delek operates about 250 convenience stores primarily in West Texas and New Mexico.
