Convenience store distributor Core-Mark is expanding its partnership with digital supply chain company Blue Yonder to transform its category management strategy, Blue Yonder announced on Thursday.
While it was already using Blue Yonder’s SaaS solutions in some of its regions, Core-Mark is now tapping the tech company’s category management solutions to digitalize all of its space and floor planning and standardize its services across Core-Mark’s entire business, according to the announcement.
“Our goal is to offer intelligent assortment and space planning insights to our small to medium-sized c-store customers to help them succeed,” said Jim Hachtel, director of category management for Core-Mark. “To achieve this, we need to offer solutions that automate cumbersome tasks and provide robust recommendations to optimize their sales.
The partnership gives Core-Mark enhanced automation through a planogram generator and tailored planning strategies informed by “optimized store groupings through channel clustering,” the announcement said.
Core-Mark, a division of food and beverage distributor Performance Food Group, offers products, marketing programs and technology to 50,000 stores in the U.S. and Canada through 37 distribution centers.
