Dive Brief:
- Coen Markets has redesigned its website on the front and back ends to feature a more user-friendly experience for both employees and customers.
- Beyond a more modern look to match its brand, Coen’s redesigned website includes an easier-to-remember domain, a new content management system and a careers and benefits page, as well as several other sections regarding its company and programs, Andrea Neurohr, vice president of marketing for Coen Markets, said via email.
- This continues a busy period on the digital front for Coen, which revamped its loyalty program earlier this year.
Dive Insight:
Coen’s website redesign took nine months from start to finish, Neurohr said. She noted that the previous website “lacked content and depth” when discussing Coen’s foodservice offer or its employees, fuel network and broader company history.
“The old site really didn’t tell the Coen story at all,” Neurohr said.
Coen’s new domain name, coenmarkets.com, is expected to be “easily remembered by customers and clients” and to work better in advertising, Neurohr said. The previous domain name was coen1923.com.
With its new, fully controlled content management system, Coen’s marketing team can now make website changes “in seconds vs. days,” she noted.
The redesigned website also features a store finder that customers can filter by amenities, as well as refreshed pages dedicated to Coen’s foodservice and fuel offerings and loyalty program. Coen also tweaked its company history page, as well as information about its fleet and dealer programs.
Coen also plans to launch mobile ordering in Q2 of next year, Neurohr said. All food items available in its stores will be available for mobile ordering once that launches, she noted.
“We are opening our first new-to-industry [store in] Q1 with a brand new enhanced menu and offering, so we may launch mobile ordering there first,” she said. “We just want to do it right, and sometimes that takes time, but it’s better than not doing it well.”
