Circle K is cutting fuel prices by up to 40 cents between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time on May 23, the company announced Wednesday.
The promotion will be available at more than 5,000 Circle K locations in the U.S. The level of the discount can vary from state to state depending on local law, according to the announcement. The discounted price should be reflected in the price on the pump.
This discount is coming just ahead of the Memorial Day holiday. AAA expects more people to travel by car for the holiday this year than in the past four years.
The convenience store chain will donate 10% of the profits from fuel sales during Circle K Fuel Day to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, which provides scholarships and educational counseling to children who have lost a parent who served in the military.
The company is “proud to recognize the true meaning of Memorial Day, through our support of our non-profit partner, the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, during this event,” said Louise Warner, senior vice president of global fuels with Circle K.
Laval, Quebec-based Couche-Tard, parent company of Circle K, operates more than 5,700 c-stores in the U.S. It is the second-largest c-store company in North America behind 7-Eleven.
