Casey’s General Stores told its corporate staff last week that they’ll be required to work full-time from the company’s headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa, a spokesperson confirmed to C-Store Dive on Monday.
Casey’s had been operating under a hybrid work model at its headquarters — which it calls its Store Support Center — since 2021, the spokesperson said. The news signals a shift to bring everyone “fully in office,” they added.
Around this time last year, about 3% of Casey’s 45,000 full- and part-time employees worked out of the Store Support Center or assisted with Store Support Center functions, according to the company’s 2024 annual report.
“This will be positive for the team experience and collaboration,” Casey’s spokesperson said in a statement. “We are still providing our team flexibility as needed.”
Casey’s redesigned its 60,000-square-foot headquarters about four years ago with the help of Dimensional Innovations, a design firm that’s also worked with companies such as Disney, AT&T and The Home Depot.
Among several features at the facility is Casey’s Innovation Kitchen, where the convenience retailer conducts research and development for its pizza and other food and beverage products. Just last week, Casey’s CEO Darren Rebelez said that new innovations in prepared food and dispensed beverages were a major contributor to the company’s profitable inside sales last quarter.
