Dive Insight:
This is the latest in a series of moves Arko has made to appeal to value-seeking customers and try to draw them to its stores. The company has recently introduced a number of meal deals and discounts for rewards members, including a $4.99 frozen pizza and $2.99 chicken sandwiches. Arko also included the pizza in value meals that aimed to feed a family for under $10.
This latest addition is extending that ethos to the pump, noted Arie Kotler, Chairman, President and CEO of Arko, in the announcement.
“By reducing fuel prices, we’re putting more money back into consumer pockets and supporting local communities so they can free up spending on other essential goods,” said Kotler.
These discounts are available across all of Arko’s 1,350 c-stores, which operate under a variety of banners including Fas Mart, E-Z Mart, Scotchman, Handy Mart and Pride.
As Arko launches these discount campaigns, it’s also developing a new food-focused store design that aims to grow traffic, profitability and the company’s value proposition.
