Amcon Distributing Company, which distributes foodservice, center store, general merchandise and other consumer products to convenience retailers across the U.S., has acquired Arrowrock Supply, a tobacco and grocery wholesale distribution company, Amcon announced this week.
Amcon is acquiring Arrowrock from Davis-Jones Inc., the company that also owns Boise, Idaho-based convenience retailer Stinker Stores. Arrowrock primarily services Stinker and other retailers across Idaho.
The deal is expected to close during Amcon’s second fiscal quarter of 2025. Once it finalizes, Amcon will continue serving Arrowrock’s current customers from Arrowrock’s distribution center in Boise.
The Omaha, Nebraska-based distributor’s servicing base will then include about 8,000 locations from 14 distribution facilities in 34 states.
“Our customer base in the Intermountain West of the United States is growing, and the addition of Arrowrock will enable AMCON to continue to provide a premium level of service across the region,” Christopher Atayan, chairman and CEO of Amcon, said in the announcement.
This marks Amcon’s third company acquisition of 2024. It acquired fellow distributors Burklund and Richmond Master Distributors Inc. in March and April, respectively.
Amcon’s distribution centers are located in Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Tennessee and West Virginia.
