Tony Harris has joined 7-Eleven as the company’s new senior vice president of corporate store operations for the U.S. and Canada, according to a post on Harris’ LinkedIn page Thursday.
Harris brings almost two decades of experience at a variety of convenience stores to the role.
He spent over 16 years at BP-owned Thorntons in a variety of roles, according to his LinkedIn bio. He started out as the director of information technology in 2000, and worked his way up through roles like vice president of operations and facility services and chief operating officer to eventually become president of the company from June 2014 to October 2016. As president, he oversaw all aspects of the company’s retail operations, encompassing over 180 locations in six states at the time, with $2.8 billion in annual sales, according to his LinkedIn profile.
From Thorntons, Harris moved on to Cumberland Farms, where he served as a senior vice president for a year and a half. He followed that up with a stint as Mapco’s chief marketing and merchandising officer.
In his most recent position before 7-Eleven, Harris served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer for GetGo Cafe + Market. That tenure ended in April, amid an executive shake-up at GetGo and parent company Giant Eagle.
7-Eleven has had its own share of executive moves in 2023. In May, the company promoted Jesus Delgado-Jenkins to executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, Dennis Phelps to senior vice president of merchandising, Dave Strachan to senior vice president of fresh foods and Kristen Cook to vice president and chief of staff.
It also named Stan Reynolds, former chief financial officer, as company president, a role formerly held by CEO Joseph DePinto.
