7-Eleven hopes to hire 50,000 employees across 13,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada during its annual hiring event, the c-store giant announced earlier this week.
The Irving-Texas-based retailer has openings at Speedway, Stripes and 7-Eleven stores, as well as at certain franchise owned and operated locations. 7-Eleven also has corporate positions available in its information technology, maintenance and technology departments. The hiring event is scheduled for April 25.
Prospective employees can apply at store locations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time or by visiting each banner’s website. Same-day interviews will be available for in-person, store-level applicants.
“Expanding store teams with the addition of 50,000 new roles will help our brands gear up for the busy summer season,” Treasa Bowers, senior vice president of human resources for 7-Eleven, said in the announcement.
The company offers full-time employees and their eligible dependents medical, dental and vision insurance. A profit sharing or 401(k) plan is available to team members after 90 days of employment. 7-Eleven also offers employees occupational accidental death and dismemberment insurance, as well as basic life insurance, at no additional cost. The retailer offers paid time off for holidays, vacation, sick time, jury duty and bereavement.
Hiring and retention challenges continue to plague the convenience store industry. Turnover in the space in 2021 reached 150% — its highest level since 2012, according to NACS’ most recent State of the Industry Compensation Report.
