7-Eleven has named Jim Kastle as chief information security officer, according to a LinkedIn announcement made by Kastle on Monday.
Neither Kastle nor representatives from 7-Eleven responded by press time to requests for more information on his position. However, Kastle said in his announcement that he’s working under John Phee, 7-Eleven’s senior vice president and chief information officer, out of the convenience retailers’ headquarters in Irving, Texas.
Phee’s team develops and supports data infrastructure at 7-Eleven. In addition to IT strategy and governance, this team spearheads 7-Eleven’s store, customer and enterprise technology; infrastructure and operations; data and architecture; research and development; information security; and global services.
Kastle brings over two decades of corporate IT and risk management experience to 7-Eleven. He’s notably been the chief information security officer for several companies, including automotive technology firm Delphi, CPG food giant Conagra Brands and, most recently, consumer goods and personal care company Kimberly-Clark.
At Conagra — one of the biggest providers of branded food products in c-stores across the U.S. — Kastle led the company’s information security and risk management programs. This included creating programs for mitigating known and emerging cyber risks, according to his LinkedIn bio.
Kastle has also held IT-related positions with JP Morgan Chase, healthcare services firm Cardinal Health, laboratory product distributor VWR International, and financial and retail technology company Diebold Nixdorf.
