Dive Insight:
7-Eleven debuted its 7Collection shop two summers ago in an effort to “become more than just a convenience store,” the company said at the time. Since then, 7Collection launches have included golf- and holiday-themed items, a spring line of clothes and gear, and gaming-themed merchandise in partnership with video gaming brand The Tetris Company.
The new summer-themed products were designed with typefaces and colors that fit previous eras.
“For this collection, we drew from 7-Eleven's iconic uniforms of the '70s and '80s, infusing these nostalgic elements with a modern twist to blend the best of the past and present,” Alex Crawford, senior marketing specialist for 7-Eleven, said in her LinkedIn post.
7-Eleven isn’t the only c-store retailer that has a clothing and accessories line. Others include Circle K, which sells branded T-shirts, zip-up sweatshirts, polos, button downs and jackets, as well as Wawa, which offers jerseys, polos, graphic T-shirts and hoodies, sweatpants, leggings, socks, slippers and even baby gear.
Irving, Texas-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises and/or licenses more than 13,000 convenience stores in the U.S. and Canada.
